Welcome emails are the linchpin of your email marketing strategy, setting the tone for the entire customer journey. 

With an incredible open rate of 68% (Oberlo, 2022), welcome emails are at the forefront of the most effective email types. 📈

But how exactly you create a successful welcome email campaign?

Make sure your email content is on point.
Your welcome email shouldn't only thank your new customers but also contain helpful information, onboarding process (if needed) and CTA. Depending on your niche, you can even include a welcome discount. Check this great welcome email example.

Create an effective and clean email design.
Unless your brand is super funky, there's no need to overdo with email design. Always check these things: clean layout and typography, contrasting colors for important information to stand out, enough white space and clear visual hierarchy.

Choose the right timing.
Perfect timing for welcome emails is 0-15 minutes after purchase/sign-up. However, if you'll do a welcome sequence (which we highly recommend), you should wait 24 hours before sending a follow-up and at least a couple of days before sending more emails.

🎈 Pro tip. Take full advantage of automated triggers.
For instance, if a subscriber opens your email and explores your website but doesn't redeem their welcome discount, send a friendly reminder and guide them toward the value you offer.
